Think deciding on a name for your unborn baby is a challenge? So is choosing which pushchair you want (well, that’s what I found anyway!)…

In the world of 2020, welcoming a baby was pretty different to I guess the norm, in that we just didn’t get all of those ~first time parent experiences~ including shopping for the essentials. With lockdown in full swing and many shops closed, deciding on a pushchair had to be based purely on recommendations and the weekly game of I Spy That Pushchair in the park. With my best friend having an Uppababy Cruz which we’d been fortunate to see and push in person before the pandemic, we opted for that and at the time it was a great decision for its comfort and resilience as we took our daily trek on the Heath during the middle of winter. However, with spring starting to appear and the thought of travel becoming a reality again, we knew we needed something a little lighter. More compact. And basically something nifty.

Which is exactly what the Babyzen YOYO2* is. Nifty.

I was kindly sent the Babyzen YOYO2 6month+ stroller and in all honesty, since we’ve had it, I haven’t stopped using it.

With our favourite (and only) hobby during this pandemic being a daily walk, I’ve found the Babyzen YOYO2 to be perfect for that quick popping to grab a coffee whizzing around the supermarket, and just general ease of throwing it in the boot where it isn’t taking up all of the space. It may be labelled as a tiny and compact pushchair, but that doesn’t compromise in its use. Whilst it may be better suited for the city folk as opposed to the country person, we’ve found it incredibly sturdy on walks around our local woods and the basket underneath holds our weekly wine shop well.Little one also looks incredibly comfy in it so it’s a win all round.

Much of our spare time is either spent seeing family and friends all over the UK, heading away for a long weekend or jumping on a plane for some sunshine so we wanted a pushchair that was easy for travel - and with the Babyzen YOYO2 being one of the first buggys to fit in an aeroplane overhead locker, we know that it’ll make travelling that little bit easier in that we don’t have to lug a huge pushchair around alongside ten hundred suitcases (cause isn’t that how you travel with a baby?!).

Another big thing for us is space at home - we loved how compact the stroller is (like really compact). Not only does it open up with just a flick of your wrist (like seriously. I’m not the best at it. But Tim is an A* student at opening it with one hand in seconds), but it folds up so neatly in our pantry or hangs on our coat hooks, that the house almost has that sense of normality in that we can just feel like adults in the evening, and not be reminded every five minutes that we’ve got a baby with baby things all around us. And I don’t know about you, but in this current world that’s a small thing that I take great pleasure in right now…

As the Babyzen website proudly states, the YOYO2 stroller is double the agility and ingenuity to make your life even easier. And as a new mum, I’m all for making life as easy and faff free as possible. You hear me on that?

Plus, when I’m wandering down the street in my beanie and oversized coat, and pushing this stroller around, there’s a moment where it makes me feel that I might just be able to class myself as a cool mum. And that’s a huge perk for me!

Babyzen YOYO2 you have made our life a whole lot niftier. Welcome to the family.
