Because, music #1

There are some things in life we just know we'll never ever do.  Mine include going on the X Factor (nobody wants to be in the overs anymore…), releasing a single and starring in a musical.
Actually, my chances of going on the X Factor may not be out the window – my terrible voice would make good entertainement.
But basically, what I'm trying to say, is that I really like singing.
Singing doesn’t like me though.
Which is why I was unfortunate and not blessed with a beautiful voice.
Saying that, it doesn’t stop me belting out those classics in the car with the girls, doing my renditions of every song in Les Miserables or bopping along to my Avocado playlist - and yes, I totally call my playlists perculiar things.
Now I would no-where near call myself a music buff, because I’m not a buff at anything (hell, I’m not even BUFF), but I like music. I spend majority of my day listening to music.
I spend majority of my day annoying my colleagues with my trying-to-be-quiet-but-failing singing voice.
Because music is good.
My Cloud playlist is the perfect wind down when I’m in the bath at the end of the day.
My Milk Bottles playlist is ideal for a Sunday morning when I’m drinking tea in bed.
My Brighton playlist is always on when I’m heading somewhere in the car.
My Avocado playlist – the one that takes me back to being 17 again. A marginal indie Cindy if you wish.
And my Pink Cords playlist? Ultimate girls night in soundtrack. YES, one that we all secretly love.

I just like listening to the sounds. All kind of sounds (maybe that’s why I like talking too?), and I’m forever changing my playlists around, losing hours sitting on my bed finding some new songs that I can challenge myself to learn in a day, to getting recommendations from friends of bands to check out. And so, because I like music, I’ve decided to share a few of my favorites that are getting me through those Autumn mornings. Enjoy -

Bright Eyes – First Day of My Life
Camera Obscura – This Is Love
Broods – Mother & Father
Rivver – Am I OK?
Lykke Li – Love Out of Lust
The Guillemots – Made up Lovesong #43
Noah & The Whale – 2 Atoms In A Molecule
Slow Club – When I go
Angus & Julia Stone – Mango Tree
M83 – We Own the Sky
Ryan Adams – Blank Space
Kyko – Animals
The Chainsmokers - Roses
Black Coast – Trndsttr
Dan Croll – From Nowhere
Jack Penate – Learning Lines

Best served whilst staying in your pyjamas, with a fruit tea and avocado and halloumi on potato waffles.
Yep, it’s all happening at my house on a weekend morning!
