A few weeks ago, we packed our bags and headed for a week of sun, pool and sleep (I didn't say sea and sand because, well, we're not beach people!). It had been an incredibly busy few months and we couldn't wait to get our swimwear on and lounge about doing pretty much nothing. Although we were in the fairly commercial town San Antonio, we managed to keep ourselves away from awesome dancers and fish bowls and instead made the most of the heat and each others companies (and find time for some watermelon daquiris!) It was bliss.
Mornings were spent tucking into some fruit compote covered pancakes and eggs Benedict at one of the tastiest restaurants on our road with an ice cold coffee to kick start our day. An amble along the bay and a dip (for Little B, not me) in the sea was the perfect way to cool down and enjoy life in Ibiza.
Afternoons would consist of napping. Lots of it too! Resting up by the pool hotel with a good book and bottles of water and only taking time off to enjoy a quick splash in the pool (or a laze on the lilo). The hours would soon whittle away with a little doze on the sunbed thrown in for good measure.
Most evenings we would dress up and head out for dinner, but the nicest evening was the one with a takeaway pizza, two cans of cider and the most beautiful sunset ever seen, on the beach. We sat for hours tucking into the stone baked pizza, washing it down with fruit cider and discussing all things life. These are the best kind of evenings.
