Afternoon Tea with Katie Alice

It's fair to say that there's nothing quite as sweet (literally) than sitting in our kitchen, on one of those days when the sun's half out but not quite enough to enjoy in the garden, eating sweet treats and discussing the week that was. It's also fair to say that it's made much better when utterly beautiful tableware is included, and this Katie Alice set is every girls dream (well, every girl who loves tea and cake!) and pretty much knocked off all our other sets, making it number one in the kitchen - sorry heart shaped plates, you've actually been demoted!

As much as we're partial to a spot of baking (OK, so this is most definitely aimed more at Little B than my short-attention-spanned-self...), sometimes it's nice (and easy!) to pick up a few cheeky treats instead and for once we opted for lighter bites and pastries instead. Pastries are perfect and even better when there's a few left over for breakfast the following morning, not so perfect when you try to eat one in the car. It involves a lot of mess!
Whenever Little B and I had some free time together, it always revolved around food and we spent those afternoons deciding on a lunch date place, and always found ourselves in a local farm shop because, well, cream tea and scones are the perfect option for a quiet afternoon together! However I'm hoping that with us spending most evenings under the same roof (it still sounds weird...), we won't constantly treat our bellies to goodies and instead do other things rather than eat. But for now there's cakes and sweets to be eaten. Guess we'll give it a go some other time...
